Financial Administrative Dashboards

The Financial Administrative Dashboards (FADs) are a suite of interactive reports to help UMBC units monitor their financial activity. Currently, the Financial Administrative Dashboards fall under two categories: Finance Summary Reports and Finance Detail Reports.

A complete list of reports can be found in the table of contents page.

Sponsored Project reports are currently being developed and will be announced in the coming months.

Training and Guides

  • The FAD Quick Guide is a reference sheet providing users general beginning information to utilize the dashboards.
  • The FAD Report Matrix provides a cross-walk between the old Rex Finance Reports and the current FADs Reports.
  • Virtual Trainings are offered monthly, users can learn more and enroll on the my.umbc.edu Trainings group.
  • Additional report specific write-ups and short demonstration videos can be found on the University Wiki.

New Updates!

January 2025 – New Updates in the Details Workbook.

  • Readability Improvement – Clicking into any cell will show a pop-up with the full text of the data field.
  • Drill-Down to Journal Entry – Clicking into a Journal ID cell will show a pop-up to a link that will take you to the full Journal ID dashboard.
  • New HR Wild Card Filter – The new filter is at the bottom of the Salary & Wages and Fringe Benefits Dashboards, allowing the user to select what data field will go into the last column on the top table on the dashboard before the amount.
